The Pineapple Cup - January

The Pineapple Cup takes place in January is one of the oldest offshore regattas, which started in Montego Bay in 1961. The 811 nautical mile race starts with competitors crossing the Gulf Stream for the Northwest Providence Channel, then down the eastern side of the Bahamas Island Chain toward the tip of Cuba. The final stretch is a 240-mile downwind ride from Cuba’s eastern tip, known as the Windward Passage, to the finish at Montego Bay. The Sugar Cane Ball - February

The Sugar Cane Ball is an annual fundraising event for Hanover Charities, one of Jamaica’s largest charitable organisations. The charity’s mission is to improve the health, welfare, and education of residents in Western Jamaica, and its many programmes are largely supported by the funds from this ball, which takes place each year in February at the iconic Round Hill Hotel. Mobay City Run - May

MoBay City Run, a 10K/5K Run and Walk, established to raise funds to support struggling university students, living in Western Jamaica in an effort to sustain the institutions based in western Jamaica. The scenic race takes place in May and starts at the Old Hospital Park by the seaside on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard and continues throughout the town passing many of Montego Bay’s landmarks before it leads back to the start for the medal awards and merriment. Reggae Sumfest - July

Reggae Sumfest is an iconic music festival that happens every summer in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It is the biggest music festival in Jamaica and the Caribbean region. Taking place in July, it attracts a wide audience from around the world who come to see live performances from some of the biggest local and international Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Jazz acts. Cumi Charity Golf Tournament - September

CUMI, the Committee for the Upliftment of the Mentally Ill, is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), registered non-profit charity based in Montego Bay Jamaica. It was founded in 1991 and advocates for the homeless and mentally ill through its rehabilitation centre and outreach programmes. The CUMI Charity Golf tournament is the organization’s primary fundraiser, held at the beautiful Tryall Golf Course annually in September.
